development of different optical methods for determination of glucose using cadmium telluride quantum dots and silver nanoparticles
a simple, rapid and low-cost scanner spectroscopy method for the glucose determination by utilizing glucose oxidase and cdte/tga quantum dots as chromoionophore has been described. the detection was based on the combination of the glucose enzymatic reaction and the quenching effect of h2o2 on the cdte quantum dots (qds) photoluminescence.in this study glucose was determined by utilizing glucose...
MERS-CoV
In 2002/03, a novel coronavirus (CoV) termed severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-CoV emerged in China and caused an epidemic in which approximately 800 of 8000 cases died. Ten years later, a newly emerged Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS)-CoV has been confirmed in 189 patients of which 82 had a fatal outcome. All MERS cases were linked to the Arabian Peninsula and to date thirteen ca...
Domestic Pig Unlikely Reservoir for MERS-CoV
We tested the suitability of the domestic pig as a model for Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection. Inoculation did not cause disease, but a low level of virus replication, shedding, and seroconversion were observed. Pigs do not recapitulate human MERS-CoV and are unlikely to constitute a reservoir in nature.
متن کاملMERS-CoV diagnosis: An update.
Diagnosis of MERS-Cov still a major concern in most of daignostic laboratories. To date the Real-time Polymerase Chain reaction (RT-PCR) is the mainstay for diagnosis of MERS-CoV. RT-PCR has limitations, including a long turnaround time and lack of common measurements and correlations with Viral Load (VL). It is recommended to screen for MERS-CoV using RT-PCR of the upstream of envelope gene (u...
